The Internet is the way of modern life, so naturally it would play a role in modern conversation. People love the internet and love the ability to connect with others, from all across the country/world, and learn what they have to say about different subjects.
Now that is an amazing testament to the way our modern society lives. People have access to more information, just by using internet (that is now available on a phone!), than anyone in the world was capable of having a few decades ago. Part of the beauty of modern life is that the internet provides us with immense information about anything we could ever hope to be curious about. The sheer number of blogs that are out there proves that there are people who enjoy writing them, as well as reading them. While I have had virtually no experience with blogs up until this point, I realize that I am a pretty small part of the population. It’s nice to be able to write more freely and actually voice personal opinions instead of writing in strict essay format with no “I’s” allowed.ĭo I consider blogging to be a viable and useful form of modern conversation? Yes. Yes, I did go through the stages of growing anxiety each week as Sunday night drew closer, but at the same time I did enjoy this assignment. While I am not choosing to continue with a blog following this conclusion, I have to say that I do think that it is a great assignment for this class. Getting feedback from my peers each week actually made me feel a lot more comfortable with others reading my work, as it is something I have always felt nervous about for some reason. However, I was actually pleasantly surprised by the comments that I received. After my first blog, I was just waiting for the negative comments from people that thought I was an idiot for thinking that something like that was possible. My topic, Ancient Aliens, is definitely something that many people are skeptical about. I know that not everyone is aware of whom exactly the author is behind the blog they are reading, solely for the purpose of commenting on it in order to reach their weekly quota, but it is still a little nerve-wracking! I feel like there is a certain level of anxiety attached to anything that involves your work being read by your fellow classmates, let alone anyone on the internet who stumbles upon it. While yes, I did enjoy it as much as you could enjoy an English assignment, I would not exactly consider it fun. This was my very first blog and, I am almost positive, will be my very last.
